Moxibustion is a therapy often used in conjunction with acupuncture.
It involves the use of dried leaves of the mugwort (Artemisia Vulgaris) plant , commomly called moxa.
The slow burning nature of this herb when compressed into cones or sticks, allows it to be placed on or near the skin surface over acupuncture points.  It is removed when it feels too hot.
Moxa is used to stimulate the flow of qi and blood, and remove blockages and ease pain by providing warmth.
